To further our mission of developing educational programs, BioAgenda has incorporated the BioAgenda Institute as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation and filed for 501 (c)(3) status, with provisional approval to operate in some areas as a nonprofit corporation until final approval is granted by the Internal Revenue Service. Some operations of BioAgenda will now fall under a nonprofit organizational status, further strengthening our commitment for an independent program of discussion, analysis and education representing all points of view. This nonprofit status will allow us to seek funding from foundations and diverse donors. It also is a first step in creating a biotech policy institute dedicated to the mission of BioAgenda.
